A classical document of democratic socialism, Otto Bauers treatise ' Zwischen zwei Weltkriegen', originally published in German in 1936, is published for the first time in English. Together with the translation comes a long introduction of 160 pp. into the political and economic thought of Otto Bauer as one of the leading figures of European and international socialism before WWII and the major representative of the remarkable school of 'Austromarxism', the frist truly interdisciplinary endeavour in the history of Marxist thought which went beyond the limits of traditional "Marxism".
