N2 - The efficiency of secondary schools in England is evaluated using a network data envelopment analysis. School-specific efficiency scores at the various nodes of the network are regressed against environmental variables. It is found, inter alia, that schools located in the Northern Powerhouse are less efficient than others at the upper secondary level, though no less efficient at lower secondary level.
