N2 - The generic and specific skills in university studies have generated the birth of new ones in response to the current needs of the information society and communication. The purpose of this paper is to reflect the project carried out within the European Erasmus program between the University of Lancaster (United Kingdom) and the University of Cantabria (Spain), which has trained international students through digital literacy processes. The objectives of the project aimed at improving students' media competence have been to foster comprehension skills and word processing, enhance the ability to organize information and revise and develop critical and communicative skills. The method used has been the implementation of training sessions to students that have combined traditional linguistic tools with cloud computing resources. The favourable results from teaching quality assessment in the field of language learning, obtained from a new experience of working with practices on media literacy, encourage us to follow with the research and collaboration project between both universities.
