Abstract

The technique described in this letter is applicable to multiple phase shift keyed (M-PSK) digital transmission systems. The technique indicates the best position for symbol placement so as to minimise error propagations of digit errors of order k≥2. It is shown that the new structure gives better performance than conventional Gray code under poor channel conditions.
