Abstract

A new encoding/decoding technique for double-bit error-correcting (DEC) codes, based on generalised array codes (GACs), is proposed. The proposed technique allows the design of DEC-GACs, decoding of which on combinatinal circuits can be made faster and less complex than that of the BCH and other DEC codes.
