Bibliographic note

Derived from the Higher Education Close Up conference 2001 of which I was the principal organiser, this book offers high quality examples of the fine grained research into higher education. These Higher Education Close Up conferences attract delegates from around the globe and offer a venue for discussion of fine grained research approaches in HE. The first three conferences were held in 1998, 2001 and 2006. The fourth conference will be held in Cape Town in 2008. A special number of the International Journal of Educational Research I guest edited will publish selected papers from the 2006 conference and papers from the first two conferences are available at EducationLine at Leeds University. The conferences and their subsequent publications are significant in this strand of research into higher education. They are supported by a Jiscmail discussion list which is one of the Society for Research into Higher Education Networks. RAE_import_type : Edited book RAE_uoa_type : Education
