Analysis of data from the first national survey of adults with learning disabilities in England

Project: Other

Description

This Department of Health funded survey, undertaken by BMRB, the IHR and Central England People First, involved interviewing 3,000 adults with learning disabilities. It was the first national survey that sought to describe the life experiences and opportunities of adults with intellectual disabilities in England.

The main report is available from http://www.ic.nhs.uk/pubs/learndiff2004.

We are currently undertaking more detailed analyses of these data, especially with regard to the impact of socio-economic disadvantage on the life experiences of people with learning disabilities.
