Atmospheric Chemistry in the Earth System (ACITES) Network

Project: Research

Description

The Atmospheric Chemistry In The Earth System Network has been funded by NERC to bring together the atmospheric chemistry community and the Earth system modelling community. The project at Lancaster focuses on atmospheric dry deposition processes which constitute both an important removal pathway for many atmospheric oxidants and aerosols and a major input of nutrients and pollutants to the biosphere. We are initially addressing the deposition of ozone, a key tropospheric oxidant which has detrimental impacts on plant growth.
