DART: Digital Advanced Rural Testbed

Project: Research

Description

DART, which stands for Digital Advanced Rural Testbed, is one of five network service demonstrators funded by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) to test business models, applications and advanced services. DART offers a testbed incorporating advanced infrastructure using satellite broadband to allow open and flexible experimentation by third parties (e.g. content and application providers). Technology enablers are used to create new services, applications and business models by combining quality of service, multicast, caching for video content and micro-billing.
