In the course of establishing the benefits of design research across a range of domains and stakeholders, we approached a member of the Morecambe Bay Curriculum Commitee to develop and design learning materials that allow students at local primary schools to engage with generative AI. Since the latter is poised to disrupt creative industries, a major sector in the UK, we are exploring this cutting edge technology with those who will likely be impacted by and native users of this technology. We designed a website that allows curated access to generative AI technologies, and developed six bespoke lessons with learning materials. As of March 2023, we are currently deploying the lessons with a Year 4 class at a local primary school.
