ICA: Personal remote vehicle communication

Project: Research

Description

Almost all modern cars can be controlled remotely using a personal communicator (keyfob). However, the degree of interaction between currently available personal communicators and cars is very limited. The goal of this project is to investigate how personal communicator to car communication can be improved such that a long-range two-way communication can be supported. In particular, it is investigated how such a long-range two-way communication can be implemented efficiently. For example, energy consumption, communication range, link reliability, channel bandwidth, data transfer latency and other parameters have to be balanced to obtain a cost-effective and user-friendly solution.
