The main focus of Spring-a-story Lancashire is to empower children to be more independent in reading through the introduction of e-book co-reading and to influence regional and national policy makers to understand the opportunity of introducing this practice in schools.
Spring-a-story Lancashire aims to identify an approach to integrate the e-reading into schools’ actual practices with the purpose of stimulating children’s independent reading and the development of pre-reading skills. We will conduct a study in which we will collect evidences about children’s engagement in co-reading an e-book that could support the following step of discussing with local policy makers. Local policy makers will be engaged throughout the project in defining a list of recommendations for the introduction of e-reading as well as in supporting the dissemination towards regional and national educational policy makers.
