This is my own project since the completion of my PhD. The latter focused on irony in the work of the celebrated Mexican writer Juan Rulfo. Rulfo’s novel and masterpiece, Pedro Páramo, was listed in the top 100 novels of all time in a list published by The Guardian in 2002. My work concerns irony, the application of postcolonial theory to Rulfo’s work and the theme of revolution. I am about to start work on the relationship between Rulfo’s literature and his photography.
