Activity: Other activity typesTypes of Public engagement and outreach - Festival/Exhibition

7/11/2023

I was an invited expert speaker at All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) committee meeting which was held in the House of Commons on 7 November 2023. This is part of a new All-Party Parliamentary Group Nutrition: Science and Health, chaired by Ms Tracey Crouch CBE MP, with initial committee members from both the Houses of Commons and Lords (Mr Andy Slaughter MP, Ms Chi Onwurah MP, Baroness Boycott, Baroness Ritchie and Lord Brooke). The APPG is holding an inquiry into the role of nutrition science in improving the nation’s health and resilience of the healthcare system. The inquiry is titled: ‘The role of Nutrition as the new Preventative Medicine: positive nutrition interventions to reduce the burden and costs on the UK health services. My contribution to the enquiry is the impact of sugar and carbohydrate consumption on cognition and mood across the lifespan.
