Join the research team and other Big Local Partnership members to discuss some of the findings from the Communities in Control Study. This study has two aims. First we have been looking at what helps and what hinders Big Local residents working together and taking collective action on local issues. Second, the study is finding out whether programmes like Big Local can help improve the health of local people.

Over the last seven years, the research team has collected and analysed a lot of information and are beginning to draw some conclusions. To make sure these conclusions make sense, we want to discuss them with Big Local partnership members. Partnership members know what is going on inside Big Local, so your views on the research findings will help make sure they are as useful as possible for people involved in Big Local and in other community based programmes.

During the workshop we will describe the research as a whole and then break into smaller groups where a member of the research team will summarise the findings on a particular topic and then open up the discussion. You will be able to join at least two group discussions and these groups will be small enough to let everyone have a say. You will also be able to share your thoughts (anonymously if preferred) on an online whiteboard.
