Within the EvalPartners initiative, an International EvalPartners Forum was organized on 3-6 December 2012 in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with the aim of strengthening evaluation capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) in general, and Voluntary Organizations for Professional Evaluation (VOPEs) in particular. The Forum facilitated the sharing of good practice and lessons learned by VOPEs and others engaged in Evaluation Capacity Development (ECD), while identifying EvalPartners priorities to be implemented in 2013. More than 80 participants from all over the world attended the Forum. These include the Presidents/Chairs of all Regional and Major VOPEs and more than 30+ national VOPEs, as well as high-level representatives from bilateral (including the Government of Finland, Switzerland, USA and Australia) and International Organizations, such the WB Vice President and IEG Director General, UNEG Chair, Directors of Evaluation Offices of UNICEF, UNDP and UN Women, among others. EvalPartners, the global movement to strengthen national evaluation capacities, is proud to announce that 2015 was declared as the International Year of Evaluation (EvalYear) at the Third International Conference on National Evaluation Capacities organized in São Paulo, Brazil, 29 Sep-2 Oct 2013. The aim of designating 2015 as the International Year of Evaluation is to advocate and promote evaluation and evidence-based policy making at international, regional, national and local levels. EvalPartner Activity Innovation Challenge: EvalPartners, the global partnership to strengthen national evaluation capacities, is pleased to announce the winners of the Innovation Challenge to strengthen the demand and use of evaluation. The Innovation Challenge is organized in the context of 2015 International Year for Evaluation (EvalYear). Peer-to-Peer (P2P) support program: The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) support program is an outcome of the Global EvalPartners Forum on Civil Society’s Evaluation capacities in Chiang Mai in December 2012. P2P program is an integral part of the EvalPartners Initiative. P2P program offers an innovative approach to strengthening individual VOPEs’ capabilities by taking advantage of and maximizing capacities and experiences within the global community of Voluntary Organizations for Professional Evaluations (VOPEs).
