Fascination of Plants Day 2024 activities in Lancaster Charter Market.
The goal of this event was to get as many people as possible around the world to be fascinated by plants and enthused about the importance of plant science for agriculture and sustainable production of nutritious food, as well as for horticulture, forestry and the production of plant-based non-food products such as paper, timber, chemicals, energy and pharmaceuticals.
Our activities were highly interactive - including quizzes and displays relating to the significance of plants in our daily lives and emphasising their role in environmental conservation. The event was successful in increasing awareness of work conducted by LEC Plant and Crop Science researchers and there was good engagement in the activities by the general public.
