'The First International Workshop on Albinism in sub-Saharan Africa' brings together key players in albinism who have been invited to present their latest work on scientific and medical topics. Panels will discuss a range of topics including melanocyte biology, genetics, ophthalmology and dermatology in oculocutaneous albinism. The conference will also bring together albinism associations, NGOs and academics with an interest in the socio-cultural realities of living with oculocutaneous albinism in sub-Saharan Africa to enhance knowledge exchange and networking between these different groups. The conference offers an excellent opportunity for engagement with the most recent advances in this rapidly advancing field of research. The conference is co-sponsored by Lancaster University, the Wellcome Trust, the ESPRC, the University of Douala and the Cameroon Ministry for Health.
