Co-organised an annual research event convened by the IChemE Fluid Separations Special Interest Group (FSSIG) entitled, "What’s New in Fluid Separations?" at Brunel University London, Kingstone Lane, Uxbridge, UBB 3PH.

Contributions are sought from young academic or industrial researchers and PhD students in the final stages of their research subjects related to chemical engineering. Speakers must be currently employed/enrolled at a company or university and their research in the area of fluid separations. This includes, but is not limited to, aspects of distillation, absorption, extraction, membrane separation, adsorption, filtration, chromatography, integration of separation processes into sustainable processes as such CO2 capture, hydrogen, advanced storage, methane, ammonia or similar.

The contributions will be in the form of 20-30 minute PowerPoint presentations. A panel of judges, from both industry and academia, will evaluate the presentations and also give some general feedback at the end of the symposium. The best contributions will receive prizes, from a total prize allocation of £750 to be awarded during a social gathering at the end of the day. IChemE will cover reasonable travel expenses for presenters within the UK.

The event will give the participants a chance to discover the diverse and exciting research work currently underway. There will also be opportunities for networking and discussions between the delegates throughout the day.
