If Marx was a CEO, Goffman was an influencer and feminists ran the finances: what does it mean to lead like a sociologist?
Activity: Talk or presentation types › Public Lecture/ Debate/Seminar
This workshop provides an opportunity to creatively explore ways of thinking about the links between studying a subject like sociology and what inspiring leadership look like. Whether in work, school, or leisure, we have all encountered examples of good and bad leadership. But often public discussions of leadership and careers can seem bland, corporate, and very far from the diverse experiences that inspire the social sciences. This event will inject some life and creativity into the topic of leadership by using imagined scenarios, amusing juxtapositions, and live conversation between sociology alumni and students to think about how sociologists can make a difference in the world through leadership.
