The 2014 Latin American Regional Workshop is South-North-South dialogues in science, technology and development held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil brought together scholars from the fields of IT4D and STS. My presentation was entitled: Control and Resistance within ICT: Recife's Formalisation of the Informal Commerce Sector. It reflected initial findings of my fieldwork on the informal economy in Recife, Brazil.
