In Conversation with Christopher Frayling

On Wednesday 15th May, 5:00-6:30pm Professor Bruce Bennett will host a conversation with Sir Christopher Frayling to reflect on his career to date in Art, Design and Film, and to discuss his thoughts on the future of these creative disciplines.

Frayling is a British educationalist and writer, known for his study of popular culture. He has held numerous influential positions, including Rector of the Royal College of Art, Trustee of the V&A, Chairman of the Royal Mint Advisory Committee, Chairman of Arts Council England, and Chairman of the Design Council.

A leading scholar in the field of research in Art and Design, Frayling has authored over 20 books, including Spaghetti Westerns (1981); Once Upon a Time In Italy: The Westerns of Sergio Leone (2005); Ken Adam: The Art of Production Design (2005); Inside the Bloody Chamber: on Angela Carter, the Gothic and other weird tales (2015); Frankenstein: The First Two Hundred Years (2017); and Vampire Cinema: The First One Hundred Years (2022).

Frayling was awarded a knighthood for Services to Art and Design Education in 2001 and he is currently a Distinguished Professor at the University of Lancaster and Chancellor of Arts University Bournemouth.
