Film screening, and 'premiere' of Les Vestiges, a film by Rebecca Birch and Sarah Casey , the outcome of research around the use of art practice as a tool to examine and communicate precarity of glacial archaeology. The short film was screened at the Loetschenpass hut mountain refuge at 2700m above sea level close to one of the most significant sites for glacial archaeology in Switzerland on the border between Valais and Bern. The screening was accompanied by a presentation from Regula Gubler the archaeologist who leads the fieldwork at the Loetschenpass site, about glacial archaeology and the finds. This was followed by presentation from the artists and Q&A.
The small focussed audience included archaeologists, hut works and visitors. This setting of the screening at the mountain hut is significant and strategically designed to present the film to those active and moving through the mountains who can be alerted to the presence of the archaeology.
