Technological advancements are driving the exponentially multimodal nature of modern-day language use. In order for second language teaching, testing and research to remain relevant, our measurement toolkits would benefit from instruments that reflect this complex multimodality present in real-world domains. In this talk, Prof. Brunfaut will showcase the development and validation of novel tasks and rating scales aimed to broaden our assessed constructs.
