Radiation damage in high temperature superconductors for fusion energy
Activity: Other activity types › Types of Public engagement and outreach - Festival/Exhibition
Stand at the Energy is the Future event at the Royal Institution. The stand focussed on current research looking at radiation damage in high temperature superconductors. At the stand there was a demonstration of the Meissner effect using a Yttrium Barium Cuperate HTS and an interactive molecular dynamics tool to illustrate the radiation damage process. This was accompanied with a video showing some molecular dynamics simulations from our work and an explanation about why the results are important. Included on the video were details of Lancaster's strong links with industry.
