We Walk Into The Twilight
Activity: Participating in or organising an event types › Festival/Exhibition/Concert
Join artist Not Quite Light and writer Nick Dunn for an evening of music, soundscapes, stories and conversation, exploring the city in twilight and darkness.
Not Quite Light has produced new work in the half-light of dawn and dusk, visiting the wild green spaces within the modern city, which, although open to us, seem to suggest another world of ghosts related to our industrial past. He will be reading text inspired by his twilight visits to make this work, accompanied by music and soundscapes recorded whilst out with his camera.
Nick is the author of Dark Matters, and newly published book Dark Skies: Places, Practices, Communities. As well as readings from his forthcoming book, Dark Futures: When The Lights Go Down, he will join Not Quite Light to discuss their shared experiences of wandering Manchester through the night time hours. They will be accompanied by composer and musician Lili Holland-Fricke who will sing and play cello, providing soundscapes inspired by the readings.
