The portrait of the Portuguese National Health Service is not encouraging when compared to most European countries. The Portuguese NHS is behind in the digitalization of services, with an aged staff, and having difficulties in retaining professionals and responding to users' needs. Public investment in health has reached peaks in recent years, but this has not meant less contestation and more productivity. Why?
