CD-ROM of the Library Edition of Ruskin's Works

Press/Media: Research

Description

The CD-ROM of the Library Edition of Ruskin's Works is recognised as an indispensable resource for anyone with an interest in Ruskin, from scholars and students to the general public. The existing application is no longer supported by Microsoft Vista or Windows 7, a problem that required an urgent solution. Through extensive work by the Ruskin Library Staff and the University Library IT staff, considerable progress has now been made in overcoming this problem. They have already converted 9 volumes (nearly half) to pdf, with the prospect of completing the rest in the near future. Whilst there is lot of work to be done, there seems to be no major hurdles in then putting everything on-line. Please watch this space for further updates.

Once The Works are on-line it will give excellent access to individuals and institutions to this invaluable resource.

In the meantime the CD-Rom is still available to buy but it's only supported by older versions of Windows. For information about how to purchase a copy please go to: http://www.lancs.ac.uk/fass/ruskin/foundation.htm.
