Professor Paul Sparrow, Director of the Centre for Performance-Led HR at Lancaster University Management School, admits benefit management is far from being an easy science: "The technology that comes with a benefits system can quickly tell your usage numbers but it cannot tell you peoples motives for choosing particular benefits."
