Press/Media: Research
In 'Sharing responsibility and holding responsible' I consider how questions of holding responsible operate in personal relationships. I follow Arthur Ripstein's idea that each of us bears a special responsibility for his or her own life. But I also argue that friends, lovers and family members can share in that responsibilty - and one way in which they do so is by, on occasion, reproaching us for our faults and failings.
