Professor David Sugarman delivered a lecture on the EU’s proposal to create quotas to improve the gender balance among directors of companies at the Conference, “Getting Women on Board”, at the European Parliament on 7 March 2013.  Other participants included Commissioners, MEPs, and government and trade union representatives. Professor Sugarman is a member of a group of international scholars led by Professor Sylvia Walby OBE (Lancaster) that won the right to bid as a preferred contractor for research funds from the European Union Parliament Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) Committee.  He contributed to Gender Quotas in Management Boards (The European Parliament – Committee on Gender Equality, 2012).
