Ruth Wodak elected an Academician of the British Academy of Social Sciences

Press/Media: Research

Description

Distinguished Professor Ruth Wodak has been elected an Academician of the British Academy of Social Sciences in 2013.

Being an Academician means that a peer group has reviewed the standing and impact of a person’s work and found it worthy of the conferment of the award of Academician.

This is well deserved recognition for the scope and significance of Ruth's work, and is a prestigious addition to Ruth's long list of titles and honours.

The department of Linguistics and English Language already boasts two Academicians among current colleagues, Tony McEnery and Greg Myers and two among previous colleagues, Martin Bygate and Chris Candlin.
