Sustainable Collaborations: ESRC EPSRC IAA The Repair Shop 2049 x The Making Rooms Blackburn

Press/Media: Other

Description

At the end of 2021, the ESRC Impact Acceleration Account funded The Repair Shop 2049 project – a pilot project which began to explore how design research can help upscale the repair of smart devices in and around local communities. The project was collaboration between myself and ImaginationLancaster research colleagues and The Making Rooms – a community makerspace located in Blackburn which provides local citizens and small businesses with training and access to creative digital technologies. Today, we’re back in Blackburn town centre and about to visit The Making Rooms and give an overview of the project and its ongoing impact.
