Undergraduates present at UK Language Variation and Change (UKLVC) conference

Press/Media: Research

Description

Two of our most recent graduates, Angie Owen and Laura Blakeley, each gave presentations this week at the UK Language Variation and Change (UKLVC) conference in Newcastle. Angie gave a talk with Kevin Watson about phonological change in the Wigan vowel system, which built on her dissertation research, and Laura gave a talk with Eivind Torgersen about the results of their study into language and ethnicity in Blackburn, a project which was funded by Lancaster's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences last summer.

Well done to them!
