For many, participation might be intrinsically valuable. Not surprisingly, as human beings living as part of our societies, we want to be heard and be active within our communities. However, seeing the social fabric as compendiums of communities might bring light into those groups or communities where we have nothing or little to say as citizens of our global world.

The university might be one of these exclusive groups. We know that not everyone can actively participate in it or that our participation might be limited in this space. However, although this is at one level understandable, as universities hold a highly specialised group of professionals, on another level, it is perhaps paradoxical
