A group of leftwing secular Jewish intellectuals who fled their native Vienna before WWII, became refugees, and fought with the Allied forces decided to return to Vienna after the war, believing they could help rebuild thie country as a place where it could never happen again. Deborah Tannen interviews Ruth Wodak and Georg Schönfeld, whose parents were members of that group.
