The Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning focuses on theoretical and practical challenges related to educational uses of technologies for teaching and learning in formal and informal educational settings.
The Centre is a hub for research and practice in technology enhanced learning. Underpinned by a small core team mostly based in the Department of Educational Research, the Centre has Associate Members drawn from a range of other departments across Lancaster University and from other groups worldwide with whom we maintain close links. We encourage the participation of a range of PhD students currently conducting their thesis research, and we benefit from the ongoing contributions of Alumni Members who previously obtained their doctorates in the Department.
The Centre encourages links between research and teaching. Our teaching includes supervising traditional route doctoral students and an established part-time structured Doctoral Programme in E-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning. Our teaching is research-led and our research is informed by our teaching, where the coursework is designed to allow students to build on their professional experience to conduct research and construct knowledge.
