Research in Lancaster Medical School is a lively, dynamic and growing aspect of our departmental activity and the University has identified two main research areas within Lancaster Medical School as points of growth. These are the Combining Health Information, Computation and Statistics (CHICAS) Group and the Development and Immunopathology Group (DIG).
There is also strong and growing collaborative research activity within the newly formed Faculty of Health and Medicine. The Faculty consists of Lancaster Medical School, the Biomedical and Life Sciences Unit and the Institute of Health Research. Staff in Lancaster Medical School are thus key components of large teams in Pedagogical, Sociological and Drug Design fields. In this way Lancaster Medical School also contributes to Lancaster’s overall reputation for excellence in Inter-Disciplinary Research (IDR).
