Research overview

Prior to joining STOR-i I graduated with a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Liverpool and an MSc in Operational Research from The University of Edinburgh. The real-world applicability of OR has always appealed to me and for this reason I completed an industrial project for my Master’s Dissertation. I worked with the Defence Science and Technology Lab (DSTL) on a communication network problem, which lead to my dissertation - “A Platoon Level Communication Model”.

After graduating I worked for the Government Operational Research Service (GORS). I was based at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in London. I was able to apply my OR knowledge to a range of simulation, forecasting and data analysis projects.

For me, the appeal of STOR-i is the close collaboration between industry and academia, as well as the outstanding commitment to doctoral training.
