Daixuan Xie is a PhD student in the department of Educational Research at Lancaster University.
Her current research work is a qualitative research project that focuses on the purposes of higher education by exploring the perspectives of students from cross-cultural contexts.
With regard to higher education has been widely recognised as important progressively in the lives of individuals, institutions and society in general and a dramatically growing number of overseas Chinese students over the past decades, the issues of identifying the reasons for undertaking a university degree and finding out students' expectations of their university are becoing significant and might explain these changes. Her reserch interests also involve the influences of globalisation and internationalisation on higher education and comparative eudcation.
