David joined PALATINE in 2001, excited by the opportunity to combine his interests in the arts and higher education. Since 2003, David has also been managing the PALATINE Development Awards.

Before joining PALATINE, David was an Associate Lecturer and research student at Cardiff University, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate social science modules while completing an ESRC-funded PhD in educational sociology. He also holds an MA in musicology and an MSc in social research. David's research interests include music as an HE discipline, academic cultures and identities, effects of audit on research and teaching, sociology of doctoral work, and qualitative research methods.
