Dr. David Wood is a British investor and award-winning musician and businessman who has a multipotentialite entrepreneurial approach to business. Through over forty years of experience and a lifetime of study, he has accumulated an in-depth tacit and explicit knowledge of the industries he operates in.

David was only the eleventh recipient of the Lancaster University Doctor of Music honoris causa degree since the formation of the University in 1964 and holds the post-nominal letters: HonsDMus HonsFDip FRSA DipMusTh AMusLCM.

His current business life includes: Y1 Investments, where he owns a stake in over three-hundred enterprises around the world; dwIP, where he owns twelve UK trademarks; Faith & Hope Records Limited, who had a string of charts hits - including a UK #1 - and have their music on Hollywood films, the adverts of World leading brands, and television programmes globally; and Promenade Music Limited, who own “one of the largest and best stocked music shops in the North of England”.

His previous business roles include an involvement with: Luxembourg-based Safra Republic Holdings S.A between 1988 and 1999; Lancaster-based Monstermob Group PLC between 2000 and 2005; and Moscow-based VGTRK between 2008 and 2010.

He is passionate supporter of music and the wider arts sector. His current community involvement includes being a Patron of The Halle, Friend of the Independent Society of Musicians Trust, Friend of Help Musicians, Friend of the Royal College of Music, Member of the Royal Northern College of Music, and Member of the British Film Institute.
