Research overview

My research questions contemporary tropes of problematised alcohol consumption and addiction. Specifically, my aim is to discern how consumption is managed by utilising online 'self-help' platforms of digital recovery, rather than traditional access routes and models of treatment.

The project is concerned with identity, neoliberal politics of the self, gender, class and mixed on and offline realities. I ask by what means are alcohol reduction strategies negotiated by the user online to produce offline changes in consumption practices.
