Lecturer in Economics and Data Science
I am open to supervising Ph.D. students who are interested in applying natural language processing and machine learning techniques to address different microeconomics questions. I am particularly keen on overseeing research projects in the field of political and media economics. Specifically, I am interested in projects studying the dynamic relationship between media and politics and its impact on different political and economic outcomes, such as voting decisions, consumption, investment decisions, and more.
In my research, I take advantage of text analysis, computer vision and computer audition techniques to study how different types of media coverage affect voters' and politicians' behaviors.
I have completed a Ph.D. in Economics at Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) under the supervision of prof. Guido Tabellini, prof. Eliana La Ferrara and prof. Carlo Schwarz in January 2023. I also hold a M.Sc. in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics (Lisbon, Portugal) since 2016.
