Research overview

I am a historian of 19th century print culture, with a particular interest in health and advertising.  My current research is an exploration of how health advice for men was disseminated through advice columns and advertisements in the late Victorian press, 1880-1914.  This is a continuation of earlier research into the practice of tight-lacing and it's representations in women's periodicals (BA), and the advertising strategies of the Beecham's Company (MA).
