Research Interests

My research interests primarily concern the relationship between sex work and neoliberal capitalism, employing Marxist-feminist, pro-sex work theoretical frameworks.  My previous work has explored the (re)production of sex work stigma by social media platforms, the mainstream media, and society more broadly, and how this may be seen specifically as the result of patriarchal capitalism.  I am also interested in feminist theory more broadly, elements of media and cultural studies, and various forms of solidarity and activism.

My current PhD project seeks to explore the impacts of recent neoliberal policies and resultant discourses of sex work on sex workers' rights, safety and wellbeing, from post-crisis austerity measures to more recent COVID-19 responses.
