Biography
Currently, I am a Senior Teaching Associate in Spanish at the School of Global Affairs (2019-present). I contribute to the UG and PG programmes (Master in Translation).
Previously, I was a Visiting Academic at the University of Queensland, Australia.
Worked four years as a Visiting Lecturer in Spanish and Translation in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures of Westminster University (London, UK) and two years as a Teaching Assistant at the National Distance Education University in Spain.
My BA Hons is in Translation and Interpreting, obtained from the University of Granada, Spain, in 2001. I hold a Master of Letters in Spanish and Latin American Studies from St Andrews University, Scotland, UK, 2004. I completed my doctorate in Spanish Literature from Queen Mary, University of London, in 2010 under the supervision of Trevor J Dadson.
I have supervised UG and PG Translation projects; taught the UG modules of Spanish Translation 1, Towards Professional Translation 1, the PG module of Main Language Institutional Translation (English-Spanish) and have co-taught Spanish Language Development modules (levels 3, 4 and 5) and co-taught the culture modules The Spanish World and the Word and Expressions of Spanish Culture.
I have taught exam skills in professional short courses programme to prepare students for the Diploma in Translation exam of the Institute of Linguists in the UK.
