My research explores how generative artificial intelligence shapes cultural-heritage storytelling across Chinese and Western contexts. I compare Chinese large language models such as DeepSeek with Western counterparts like GPT-4, exposing Orientalist and Occidentalist biases rooted in divergent training corpora and alignment regimes. Bridging digital humanities, museum studies and AI ethics, I analyse how dataset composition steers descriptions of artefacts, historical events and identities, and prototype culturally sensitive prompting and data-curation techniques for curators worldwide and museum visitors. The goal is responsible, pluralistic AI narratives that respect global heritage.
