This is a collaborative project with Dr Petros Ligoxygakis at the Department of Biochemistry, Oxford University. The project will involve investigation of key insect genes involved in the Leishmania infection of the phlebotomine sand fly based on information obtained using a Drosophila model system by the Oxford group.
