Biodiesel production from biomass oil wastes

Project: Research

Description

Total value: £ 3500
This project aims to develop a new method to enhance purification of biological active substances (amino acids and phenolic acids) from their aqueous solutions based on novel biphasic systems based on environmentally friendly solvents - glycerol or ethyl lactate that we have recently discovered [ ].
Concentrations of many amino and phenolic acids in their aqueous solutions (fermentation broths and serum blood) are very low. This feature is detrimental for their detection, quantification and extraction, which we will overcome by engineering ‘green’ solvent systems.
